The Washington Federation of Republican Women (WFRW) honors the memory of our State Federation Founder, Della Urquhart. She was a visionary in 1934 when she organized a group of women in Yakima to form our first Republican Women’s Club. Her political passion resulted in our State Federation becoming chartered in 1945 with the National Federation of Republican Women. Della was our first WFRW President from 1945 to 1953 and later served in Olympia. Her resolve to promote and carry forward conservative values and leadership epitomizes what it means to educate and empower Republican women in the political process.
